YOSYP ZUBACH It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Yosyp, on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at the age of 72. Yosyp's memory will be cherished by his daughters, Lesya, Halyna (Walter) Petryk, Nadia (Alvin) Koch; grandchildren, Gregory, Sofia, Iryna, Orysia (Allan) and special friend, Raisa Moroz. He also leaves to mourn his four sisters and a brother and their families in Ukraine. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 37 years, Sofia in 1992. Born in the scenic village of Berlin Brodivskyj region, in Western Ukraine on March 26, 1933, Yosyp and his wife later settled in the village of Dobriachyn, Sokal region. Yosyp was an outgoing and cheerful man. He was known for his love of song, dance and telling stories. No event in his village was complete without Yosyp's participation. A natural leader, Yosyp was instrumental in rebuilding the village church, bringing through a paved road and a natural gas line. A dedicated family man, he ensured that all his children received a good education. Being a devoted believer and a Ukrainian patriot, Yosyp instilled the same love for the Ukrainian Church, culture and heritage in his children and grandchildren. Being a simple man, he respected people and tried to promote goodwill and positive relations with everyone he knew. One by one, Yosyp's children immigrated to Canada. In 2001, Yosyp was finally reunited with them and spent the last four years living with his daughter Halia and her family. Prayers (Panachyda) will be sung at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9 (tonight) at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 10 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rev. M. Kouts officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. P. Czaykowski, Dr. S. Husarewycz, and the wonderful health care providers who extended kind and caring hands to make his last experiences as comfortable and as dignified as possible. In lieu of flowers, donations in Yosyp's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of one's choice. We love you Tato and Dido VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
