Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTINE KATHERINE WADDELL (nee RENDALL) Passed away peacefully on May 10, 2005 in Duncan, BC. Predeceased by her husband Archie, her sister Thelma in 1986 and nephew Ted. Survived by her sister Margaret (Ed) Lievense of California, brother-in-law Dave Forbes of Winnipeg, and many nephews and nieces. Chris was born May 12, 1921 in Winnipeg, married in Toronto, then moved to Vancouver in 1947. Her passion for the concerns of Women's Rights moved her to a career in the Restaurant and Hotel Union for 12 years. In 1965 she became an Industrial Relations Officer for the BC Department of Labour. In 1966 she was appointed the first Director of the newly created Women's Bureau of Labour for BC, until her retirement in 1980. One of her greatest accomplishments was the creation of WEAT, Women's Exploratory Apprentice Training, in 1975. Her positive attitude, common sense and sound advice leaves a legacy for her nieces and nephews. Her memory will always be kept in the hearts of her family and friends. No service by request.
