Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER WAYNE HENDRICKS After a lengthy struggle with cancer, Peter passed away peacefully at his home on June 8, 2005 at the age of 78 years. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ollie; sisters, Evelyn (Bill) and Nel (Joe); brothers, Paul and Jim (Beth); brothers-in-law, Bill (Kay) and Peter (Amy) and numerous nieces and nephews. Peter was born in Winnipeg but spent his formative years in and around the family farm in the Gimli area. He devoted 38 years of his working life to the CN Railroad Police and received an exemplary service medal for faithful service to the force. Peter retired from the railroad in 1991 but with a lifelong passion for the livery business, Peter created, owned and operated Gold Leaf Limousine Service throughout his retirement years. A remembrance of Peter's life will be celebrated at a come and go reception at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St., Winnipeg on Saturday, June 11 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date. A special thanks is extended to Jeanne Tereck who gave tirelessly to see to the comforts of Peter and Ollie, to the dutiful Home Care staff who attended to their wants and needs and in particular to nurse Denise, who demonstrated extraordinary care and compassion and who continues to provide Ollie daily medical attention.
