JANE NOTON January 20, 1985 - May 30, 2005 It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our dear daughter, sister and friend, Catherine Jane Noton, on May 30, 2005. Jane will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Mark and Catherine Noton; her brothers, Charles and Steven; her grandmother Frances Grant, John and Kerry Noton and cousins, Reid and Blake, Rilla (Noton) and Sid Drobot and cousins, Doug and Rachel, Patty (Grant) and Bob Bloxom and cousins, Grant, Jackie and Caitlin. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Doug and Joan Noton and Dr. Alfred M. Grant. Jane was born in Winnipeg on January 20, 1985 and raised in the River Heights Community. She attended Brock Corydon School, River Heights and Kelvin High School. She was an excellent student and highly respected by her teachers and friends. She loved to learn and took great pride in her projects, assignments and extra-curricular activities. Jane balanced school, personal interests and friends to lead a full and rewarding life. She was an elite gymnast at the Winnipeg Gymnastic Centre and in 1997 was the Level IV provincial champion. Dance was her passion. Jane loved to perform and compete in dance festivals. She travelled with Monica's Danz Gym to Sweden in 1999 to perform in the World Gymnaestrada, a celebration of fitness, gymnastics and dance. Jane helped to start up the Kelvin High School Cheerleading Team and was involved in choreography of the routines. In her final year at Kelvin she became captain and co-coach of the team. Jane's top priorities in life were her family and hanging out with her brothers, cousins and friends. Her fun-loving spirit led to lots of adventures. Jane enjoyed travelling and liked to spend time with her grandparents in Souris and her cousins in Creighton. Jane was an absolute delight and her family felt a sense of tremendous pride and joy in her character. She was blessed with grace, poise and integrity beyond her years. She was quietly confident and respectful of others. Those who knew Jane were drawn to her. Jane went on to attend university while receiving treatment for cancer. She approached her situation with determination, strength and courage. The family would like to express their deepest thanks and appreciation to Dr. Andrew Maksymiuk, Dr. Garry Schroeder and the team of physicians, nurses and technicians at CancerCare Manitoba for their expertise and compassionate care. We would also like to extend a special thanks to the nursing, pharmacy and support staff at the Treatment Room, as well as the entire staff at the Health Sciences Centre GD6 unit. Jane always felt safe and secure on her journey. A celebration of Jane's life took place on Friday, June 3 at St. Luke's Anglican Church with Rev. Robert L. Brownlie officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jane's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or to a charity of your choice.

I had danced with Jane for many years , about 5 , at Monica's Danz Gym. Jane was a great classmate and friend, I will always remember her welcoming me the first day of dance practice , she was 12 and I was 14. She was a daredevil on the dance floor! With great spirit, she was a joy to know. We shared a love for dance and performance. I know God will keep you safe in Heaven, Jane. - Posted by: Annie Parry (Friend) on: Jun 18, 2005
