Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALPHONSE JACQUES Peacefully at the St. Claude Pavilion on Wednesday, June 8, 2005, Mr. Alphonse Jacques of St. Claude, MB passed away at the age of 80 years. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Therese (nee Philippot); five children, Guy (Noellie) of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Gilbert (Denise) of Kelowna, BC, Monique (Bruce Krahn) of Sicamous, BC, Jean-Claude (Gina) of St. Claude and Evelyne (Marcel Bosc) of St. Claude; 16 grandchildren, Daniel, Michelyne, Jocelyne, Yannick, Lisa, Stephanie, David, Nicolette, Crystal, Corey, Melissa, Alexandra, Dirk, Ben, Natasha and Mathieu; and three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Rielly and Kadyn. He also leaves to cherish his memory, one brother Marcel (Monique); five sisters, Yvonne, Therese (Emile Lecoq), Jeanne (Omer Lecoq), Annette (Robert Philippot) and Lucille; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Edmond Jacques; his mother Annie (nee Lambert); one daughter Mariline; and by two brothers, Arthur and Eugene. Alphonse married the love of his life, Therese, in 1952. Their first five years were spent in Winnipeg. His love of farming brought them to St. Claude where he laboured until his retirement. A few years later they found a home in the town of St. Claude. Alphonse was a good and marvellous husband, father and grandfather. He was a soft-hearted, patient and devoted family man. He was the strong and silent type, trustworthy and always willing to lend a hand. Alphonse was a man of great dignity, conscientious and respectful of others. He was often described as a true gentleman. During the latter years of his life, he relied on the support of and found great comfort and joy within his family. Alphonse was extremely grateful for the wonderful care he received at home and at the pavilion. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 14 at 2:00 p.m. with Msgr. Roger Bazin officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the St. Claude Pavilion, Box 400, St. Claude, MB R0G 1Z0.
