Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE MARTIN (nee OROBKO) 1934 - 2005 On Wednesday, June 8, 2005, Anne Martin, our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital, after a long courageous battle with myelofibrosis. Anne leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, her loving husband of 46 years, Wilfred; daughters, Cathy (Dave Doyle) and Kim Martin; granddaughters, Melissa and Kaitlyn; sister Olga Karalash; brothers, Walter, John (Verna), Joe (Elenore) Karalash, Mike (Doris) and Steve (Joan). She was predeceased by her parents, sister Stella Orobko and brother-in-law Frank Karalash, also her special foster sister, Netty Baker. In the past, Anne had been an active member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, C.W.L. Social committee, Funeral lunch, Volunteer Host couples, etc. She had also volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Girl Guides and Brownies and hot lunch at school. Anne lived her life completely devoted to her family, always available for her children and grandchildren. Her pets will also miss her special love and attention given to them. Anne will also be missed for her unfailing memory for dates. She could remember what happened, to whom, on the proper date, whether it be an anniversary, birthday or graduation year. The family wished to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Moltzan, nurse Maureen and the Oncology staff at the St. Boniface Hospital and many others who took special care of Anne. Prayers will be offered on Sunday evening June 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Funeral mass to follow on Monday, June 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Parish, 425 Rosseau Ave. East with Fr. Jerry Ward officiating. Interment at Transcona Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dave Doyle, Dave Coulombe, Scott Van Alstyne, Richard Chubey, Peter Martin and Doug Skolny. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Sophie Skolny, Mrs. Steffie Wilgosh, Mrs. Joan Klos and Mrs. Shirley Postello. If friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation or to a charity of choice. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
