GLENN DANIEL HALOWATY Glenn Halowaty, aged 51 years, dearly beloved husband of Carolyn of Oakbank, MB passed away suddenly at Airdrie, AB. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his wife Carolyn; his children, Peter and Kayleigh; his mother Mary Halowaty of Beausejour; his brothers and sisters, Diane Hastman (Don) of St. Andrews, Lorraine of Beausejour, Gordie (Kim) of Mitchell, Brian (Janice) of Beausejour, Carol (Rick) Kilbrei of Winnipeg; nieces and nephews, Kelly (Dereck), Dana (Ryan), Avery, Amanda, Daniel Meagan, Lauren, Nicholas and Steven; brothers-in-law, Wayne (Pat) Hladki and Rick (Irene) Hladki. Glenn was predeceased by his father Dan; his grandparents, Stephan and Mary Halowaty and John and Ann Maksymetz; his uncles, Morris and Fred; his in-laws, Jean and Kaz Shumilak. Glenn attended Beausejour Collegiate and later attended Red River Community College where he obtained his welding certificate and later pursued his career to become a journeyman millwright. His work took him into Ontario and throughout Western Canada. Throughout his years of work, he formed many friendships. He was a member of the Millwright Local 1443 union hall. Glenn and Carolyn dated for a few years before deciding to get married on August 22, 1981. They lived in Winnipeg for 15 years before deciding to move to Oakbank where they have made their home. During their married life together, they had two beautiful children, Peter and Kayleigh, both of whom were Glenn's pride and joy. His wife and children were the most important aspect of his life. Glenn loved to play hockey and snowmobile in his younger years. His passion was Fords, especially his 1971 Mustang, and his passion for Fords never wavered. He liked his time at home, especially spending time with his family and friends. With him being away from home so much, these times were really special to him. Glenn was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Budhka Council in Transcona. He was very active in the selling of Grey Cup tickets and other raffles associated with the Knights. Prayers will be said on Sunday, June 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue E., Beausejour. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, June 13 at 10:30 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church, Cooks Creek, MB with Rev. Fr. Taras Kowch officiating. Interment will follow in the Ukrainian Cemetery in Bird's Hill Park. Pallbearers will be Rick Hladki, Gary Slota, Rick Kilbrei, Gordie Halowaty, Brian Halowaty, and Ron Hastman. In lieu of flowers, donations in Glenn's memory may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. We were saddened to hear of Glenn's passing, our condolences go out to Carolyn and children. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. We enjoyed and will charish memories of the visit from Glenn and Carolyn in Canmore, Alberta a few years back.
