DELIA DALEY 2005 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Delia Daley. Predeceased by husband Daniel Logan Daley; daughters, Valerie Buckler, Geraldine Mary; and granddaughter Jennifer Daley. Delia was born in Limerick, Ireland, one of 13 children When she was 17 she moved to England, met and married her husband Dan and during the war years proceeded to start her family. Following a request from the Queen for qualified teachers to teach in Canada, Mom and Dad packed up their four children and immigrated in 1952. Originally intending to settle in Montreal they were persuaded to go to Manitoba instead. First stop was Pine Dock for six weeks and then on to Meridian, then Balmoral, where son Charles was born, Matheson Island and finally settling in Fort Garry where daughter Irene was born. They resided in Fort Garry for 17 years and upon Dan's retirement from teaching they moved to North Wales. After three and a half years they returned, settling in La Salle and finally Balmoral, MB until Dad passed away and then Mom moved to Fort Garry. Still her travels were not to stop. In 1989 Mom moved to Pitt Meadows, on to Maple Ridge, BC and then back to Fort Garry. Being an independent person, Mom prided her self on her self-sufficient lifestyle caring for herself and her dog, Shamus. Delia lived a full, adventurous and rewarding life. Her main focus in life was her family, children and grand-children, always having time to spare for babies. She is survived by son Daniel Daley (Dawn); daughters, Delia Komar, (Harold), Mary Zebinski, (Neil); son Charles Daley (Heather); daughter Irene Daley (Ken); grandchildren, Danny, Jeanne, Alana, Tara, Sharon, Stephen, Kelly, Sean, Megan, Keri-Lynn, Stephen, Ryan, David, Gordon, Colleen, Peter and 17 great grandchildren.
