CAMILLE MONNEY Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Camille Monney passed away on Friday, June 10, 2005 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 90 years. He leaves to mourn his passing, his children, Ed (Alice), Irene Memka (Bob), Marcel (Doris) and Denise Waylett (Randy); 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Marthe and Alice (Gerry); and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his longtime companion Anne Macklem; parents, Alphonse and Blandine; sisters, Angele and Yvonne and his brother Albert. Dad was born on April 27, 1915 in Noreaz, Switzerland. The family came to Canada when he was one and settled in Notre Dame de Lourdes. In 1941 he moved to Winnipeg and over the years worked for Maple Leaf, National Cartage and CP Express until retiring in 1977. Dad enjoyed camping, fishing, travelling, curling and his competitive bike racing for many years. His passion for a good game of bridge or crib, bingo, and his sports on television always made for lively discussions with him. Dad always approached things in his life with determination, independence and zest. We loved these qualities about him the most and we will strive to duplicate them in our own lives. We love you and will miss you Dad. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, June 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road with Rev. Fred Olds officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON109-675 McDermot Ave., R3E 0V9, or of one's choice. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. #1 E. at Navin, (204) 222-3241
