Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLOSSEY TURNER After a courageous battle with cancer, Flossey Turner passed away on June 11, 2005 at the Assiniboine Centre, surrounded by her loved ones. She was predeceased by her husband Ted; son John; great-granddaughter Jessica; and by brothers, Bill and Eddy. She is survived by her sons, Lloyd (Cindy) of Brandon, Art (Faye), Alden (Kerri), Paul (Barb) all of Winnipeg; and by a daughter-in-law Lois of Rivers. There are 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Flossey also leaves two sisters, Kay and Elsie who live in Ontario. Flossey Freda Guigue was born in Ottawa, ON on December 21, 1930. She married Edward Theodore Turner in Hamilton, ON on June 5, 1951. They lived on numerous armed forces bases across Canada until Ted retired, settling in Brandon. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Army and Navy Veterans of Canada. Her interests included playing bingo, cribbage, crafts, involvements with Women's Auxiliary and socializing with friends. One thing all of the family will really miss about her, was her telling them every time she saw them or spoke with them on the phone how much she loved them, whether they saw her yesterday or last week. The world would be a better place if there were more loving, forgiving and gracious people like her. She never had an unkind word to say about anyone. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all of the nursing staff on the third floor at the Assiniboine Centre for the exceptional care Flossey received and also their compassion with her family throughout her illness. The funeral service will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Thursday, June 16 at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in the Veterans Section of the Brandon cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or to the Canadian Diabetes Association, B-727-10th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 4G7. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to memorieschapel@mts.net. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
