(DONA) LEIGH-ANNE DUNBAR May 8, 1983 - June 12, 2005 It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic and untimely passing of our dear, sweet Leigh-Anne on June 12, 2005 in McGregor, MB. Leigh was born in Winnipeg, MB on May 8, 1983. She leaves to mourn her passing, her mother Lori Stetina; her father John (Jack) Dunbar; her brother and the light of her life Ryan Dunbar; her Aunties and Uncles, Michelle and Garry Burgess, Cheryl Galagun, Stephen Galagun, Lynda and Dan Dunbar; cousins, Julia Burgess (Mike), Jessica Burgess (Mark), Victoria Burgess, Tracy Dunn (Mike) and baby cousins, Bella, Simon, and Sabrina. Also her Great-Aunt and Uncle John and Shirley Klassen (Sandra and Derek), Don Klassen, Gladys Dale (Ed) and many extended family far and wide. Leigh-Anne will also be deeply missed by many, many close friends; too many to name all, but specifically Matthew Kinistino (the newest member of her family), Heather Trosky and Terry Poitras (Dayna) Tina Riggs and her family, Stacey Person and her family, Rachel, Kendra, Robert Bracken and his entire family (whom still considered Leigh-Anne family) and Todd Butterfield. Leigh attended the University of Manitoba where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) on June 1, 2005. Leigh-Anne was a gifted student; hungry for knowledge who's determination and dedication to study was an inspiration to all who knew her. She planned to return to the University of Manitoba in the fall in pursuit of her Master's degree and then ultimately her PHD. Throughout her life Leigh-Anne participated in a wide variety of sports including gymnastics, basketball, cheerleading, tap and Jazz dancing, ballet, and was an avid runner and rollerblader. She excelled in almost everything she tried and wasn't afraid to try new things. During her time at the University of Manitoba Leigh-Anne also volunteered in the Peer Support Program, offering assistance to fellow students in a variety of ways. She found this work so fulfilling knowing that she was giving something back to the world and helping others. Leigh-Anne was the absolute light of her little brother's life as he was hers. They had a relationship that transcended words. Her encouragement of him and all that he did brought him further than words could ever say. Leigh-Anne's life, although far too short was well spent. She was the sunshine of our lives and will be greatly missed by everyone who's life she touched. If friends wish to do something in Leigh-Anne's honour, a suggestion may be to help a student who is struggling with fees, buying a book for a school library, or consider tutoring or mentoring a student in need. Special thanks are extended to the Portage La Prairie RCMP and the Winnipeg Police Service for their compassion and concern in what must be the most difficult part of their jobs. Also thanks to all the wonderful people in our circle who went out of their way to be helpful, appearing out of nowhere and offering assistance at this time. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 17 at Saint Mary's Charleswood Anglican Church, 3830 Roblin Blvd. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
