LLOYD R. STUBBS It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of our dear brother Lloyd R. Stubbs at the age of 78 years. Lloyd died on June 13, 2005 after a long battle with cancer at the St. Boniface Hospital. Left to cherish Lloyd's memory are his long time companion Sara; his sister Lucille (Arthur) Schmidt; his brothers, Victor, Herbert (Shirley), Robert (Kathie) and Blake; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be fondly remembered by members of the Oberth family. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas Henry and Violet, brothers, Harry, Gerald, Kenneth and sister Violet Smith. Lloyd was born on June 22, 1926 in Winnipeg. After attending various west end schools, Lloyd enlisted in the Canadian Army in September of 1944 and was discharged in August 1946. Lloyd was employed by Coca-Cola for 35 years. Lloyd was an avid golfer and was a member of the Rossmere Golf and Country Club for 40 years, where he had many golfing companions. When Lloyd wasn't golfing, spending time at Lake Brereton in the summer was one of his favourite past times. A special thanks to all the staff at St. Boniface Palliative Care 8th Floor for their caring and understanding. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 17 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Glen Eden Funeral Home with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lloyd's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111
