JAMES ALEXANDER COUVIER After a courageous battle with cancer, James Alexander Couvier Alec aged 78, passed away at Riverview Health Centre, on Tuesday June 14, 2005. Alec is predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (1993); his father Arthur Nelson Couvier (1990); mother Vera Annie Couvier (2001), and sister Marguerite (1991). He leaves to mourn his children, Kathy Finlayson (Alan), Laurie Stark (Roger) and James Couvier (Yvonne) along with five grandchildren, Brittany, Micheal, Steven, Tyler and Cyrena. Alec was born in the RM of Arthur, MB on April 28, 1927. He lived in Deloraine and Melita areas until he met his wife Elizabeth and moved to Winnipeg. In 1965 Alec began working for Inland Cement and remained with them until his retirement 27 years later. He enjoyed watching the ponies , camping, travelling and good conversation. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (entrance on Aubrey Street) at 10:30 a.m. Heartfelt thanks to the staff of 3EAST, Riverview Health Centre for their compassion and caring for Dad and all of us.
