ALBERTO DA SILVA Peacefully, after a brief illness, Alberto da Silva passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on June 14, 2005 at the age of 84 years. Alberto will be sadly missed by his wife Rosalina (Oliveira); daughter Maria Machado (Michael Edwards); grandsons, Bobby (Irene) Machado, Tony Lee Machado; great-grandson Monteo Machado; brother Jose B. (Anna) Silva (Portugal); nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his son-in-law John Machado in 2001. Alberto was born in Porto, Portugal. He loved to watch his favourite team (Porto Soccer Team) play and also enjoyed hockey and football on television. He worked and retired with Frank Fair Industries. Alberto was a kind, gentle person who was always there for his family. The family would like to thank the staff at the Health Sciences Centre for all their support and care. Prayers will be said on Friday, June 17 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 18 at 9:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. with Rev. Fr. Jose Eduardo Medeiros presiding. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alberto's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
