JOHN HARASYMKO With his family at his side, on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 John Harasymko of Komarno aged 78 years beloved husband, father, Gedo and grandpa passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg. Survived by his Wife Marian, children and grandchildren Johnny (Judy) and Dustin; Joan (Larry); Jerry (Shelley), Branden and Derek; Janet (Brian), Jamie (Leah), Jesse, Bri-anne, Jordan; Judy (Eddy) David. Two sisters Pearl and Jean; one brother Nick (Elsie), and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Metro and Nellie, three sisters Ann, Olga, and Doris and one brother Bill. John was born August 14, 1926 and was raised in the Komarno area. In his younger years he worked in the mines. John married Marian Peepchuk on October 15, 1960, and soon after began farming beef cattle. In 1974, he began dairy farming and continued until 1992 when he decided to retire from dairy farming to get back into beef cattle until a few years ago. Going hunting, as well as watching sports like baseball and hockey were some of the things that John enjoyed very much. He particularly enjoyed watching the different sporting events that his grandchildren were involved in. They all loved him dearly and will miss him very much. A prayer service open to friends and family will be held on Friday, June 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Teulon. A private funeral service will take place. Interment will take place at Holy Virgin Mary Cemetery Zbruch. Pallbearers will be Larry Korotash, Brian Pearson, Eddy Artyshko, Ken Zwarych, Steve Maydanuk, Bob Halabiski. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of his grandchildren. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (6 Donald Street, Suite 200 Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6), or the Parkinson's Society of Manitoba (302-171 Donald).
