Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLUCYANNA (MARMONE) MONA JONES Peacefully on June 13, 2005, Marmone passed away at the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg at the age of 93 years. Born on Union Island in The Grenadines of St. Vincent, West Indies, October 14, 1911, Marmone was the only child of Davis and Mary Raymond. Predeceased by her husband Ezekiel; she is survived by her ten children, sons, Reynard (Elsa), Raymond (Elsie), Jason (Omega), Byron (Grasita) and Matthew (Drin); and daughters, Veronica (Alvin Simmonds), Evadney Sylvester, Judy Williams, Annette and Donna (Tracy Campbell); 33 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Marmone was predeceased by her half-sisters, Jestina Huggins, Lena Archer and Kathleen Raymond. Marmone immigrated to Canada in 1976 to be closer to her children who by then had all moved to Winnipeg. As the matriarch, she provided relentless support to the entire Jones clan and unequivocal leadership on the issue of family unity. Every offspring felt her burning love and kindness and they in turn adored her. Her favourite greeting You look so pretty , a sure mark of admiration. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the nurses and doctors of the Riverview Health Centre for the most comforting care and attention given to Marmone. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 10:00 a.m. (the casket will be open for viewing 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.) at Saint Stephens Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Ave., (off Henderson Highway in East Kildonan). Interment will follow at Thomson In the Park , 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, well wishers are asked to make donations to Parkinson Society Manitoba, 302-171 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1M4.
