ROBERT GLEN COWIE June 15, 1941 - June 15, 2005 Suddenly on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 on his 64th birthday, Bob passed away after a short illness. Bob will be forever remembered by his wife, Ellen of 43 years; son Bob (Colleen); Nickolas and Kaitlyn; daughter Brenda (Shawn) Bochurka; Davyn and Daemyn; son-in-law Peter Caucci; Jay and Anthony; brother Clifford (Jean); sisters, Lorraine Balan and Beverly McFee; many nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Helen Cowie and daughter Colleen Caucci. He was born June 15, 1941 in Oak Point. Bob and Ellen were married September 29, 1962. He worked at various jobs starting with hay fields and fishing locally, and at 16, started at CNR. He also worked at the local fish shed, several powerline jobs and spent many years with Department of Highways, where he retired nine years ago. He had many friends and hobbies such as fishing, hunting, ski-dooing, camping, amateur radio, playing guitar and singing, visiting friends and most of all his family, especially his six grandchildren, he was so proud of them. Pallbearers will be Edward Nast, Ron Nast, Joe Hurdal, Len Van Der Vis, Alfred Nast, Bernard Lamoureaux. In accordance to Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 19 at 1:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall. Rev. Mary Best will officiate. Interment will take place at the Stonewall Cemetery. Lunch will be served at the Stonewall Legion after interment. Sincere thanks to Dr. Burnet for his care, to E.M. Crowe Hospital, in Eriksdale and the nurses for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
