LAURA SPACKMAN Our loving mother, Laura, passed away peacefully at River East Personal Care Home, on Tuesday, June 14, 2005. Mom was born Laura Beatrice Smale on December 3, 1907 in Portage la Prairie, MB. She was predeceased by her husband Clem; brother Bill; sister Esther; sons-in-law, Douglas Cullens and Ken Ankrom. She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Cullens and Ruth Ankrom; grandchildren, Heather Kork, Maureen Cullens, Glenn Ankrom and Tannis Csaba; great-grandchildren, Dana and Meghan; sister Marian; and brother Frank. We as a family will greatly miss a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Mom and Dad provided a loving home, welcoming family and friends. We enjoyed our time at Sparling United Church, being in the choir and attending church functions. You would always find Mom in the church kitchen doing her thing. Mom loved children, especially babies and cared for so many over a special time in her life. We are left with wonderful memories of both our parents. Mom made her home these past four and one half years at River East Personal Care Home. We sincerely thank everyone at River East for the care she received. We will always cherish the friends we made during Mom's stay.
