Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEO MORRIS WOLITZER Leo Wolitzer, beloved husband and best friend of Carol, passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital with his wife at his side, on Thursday, June 9, 2005 at the age of 74. Leo was born an only child in Winnipeg on February 7, 1931 to Henry and Ethel Wolitzer and was raised in the North End. He attended Aberdeen, Peretz School and St. John's High School and was predeceased by both parents. Leo worked in the clothing industry all of his adult life, finishing his career with Sainthill Levine Uniforms. He was one of the first people from Winnipeg to obtain a heart transplant in 1986 for which we were most grateful. He faced many health problems with courage and faith and always maintained a tremendous outlook and a great will to live, right up until he passed away. Leo helped many people who were facing heart transplants and was always willing to give words of advice and encouragement. He also spoke at gatherings to stress the need and importance of organ donations. Leo loved meeting and talking to people and after 10 minutes would know their history and all about them. He enjoyed all sports and was a longtime supporter of the Blue Bombers and the Jets. He will forever be cherished and missed by family and friends. Funeral service was held at the Etz Chayim Synagogue on Sunday, June 12 at 3:00 p.m. with interment at the Rosh Pina Cemetery. If desired, donations would be appreciated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Kidney Foundation, or a charity of your choice. You are everything You're the tune of a song And the step of a dance; The tang of a lemon And the love in romance; You're the best of my heart And the step in my walk; The curve of my smile And the words of my talk. You're the hop in a skip And the wave in the sea; You're the shine of the sun And the love inside me.
