CEDRIC ANTON VOGEL Cedric Anton Vogel born October 16, 1914 in Vancouver, BC, son of Hans Broder Vogel and Annie (Hunter) Vogel, passed away peacefully at home on June 12, 2005. Loved and missed by his wife, Dorothy (MacLellan); children, Peter and Jan Vogel, Chris Vogel and Richard North and by his grandchildren, Christopher and Jamie Vogel and Jason Van de Velde. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ced received a B.A. and B. Ed. from the University of Saskatchewan and taught in a one room schoolhouse in Saskatchewan until enlisting in the RCAF. He served as a navigator with bomber command, being shot down and held in the Stalag Luft III prison camp until the end of the war. In 1946 he began his career with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Regina, then administering Deer Lodge Hospital in Winnipeg and Westminster Hospital in London. Special thanks to home care workers, Elizabeth Diver, Irene Amaral, Lisa Malloy and Doris Diver for their loving care. Ced will be interred in the family plot in Arcola, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and to the London Health Sciences Foundation.
