PETER ISAAK Peter Isaak died suddenly on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at the age of 73. He was a generous, hard working and particular person. Anything he worked at was done with attention to detail. He liked things done with honest work and integrity. An appreciation of creativity and artistry was expressed in music and in language. He was born on March 14, 1932 in Springstein, MB and grew up on the family farm. He was the son of George and Helen Isaak and had a sister and five brothers. Despite a bout of polio as a child, he was always very physically active. He amazed us by finding ways to do things which should have been difficult because of the polio. His propensity to work sometimes inspired people to join him, or led them to get out of his way so that he could accomplish whatever he was doing. He memorized poetry while driving a tractor. Much of his working life was devoted to public education. He spent time as a teacher, coach, counsellor and administrator at Neepawa Area Collegiate Institute. He enjoyed work with the Manitoba Secondary Schools Athletic Association, especially in the area of track and field events. He taught many people, including his own children, how to drive. Above all, he showed devotion to God. He was a loving husband to Margaret for 50 years. Their last days together included staying with family in Winnipeg, going to a show at Rainbow Stage with family, and accounting work on his computer. His children all admire him and follow in his footsteps in their own way. They are teaching, working with people in need, using computers, making music, being involved in theatre. His grandchildren loved spending time with him as much as he did with them. When he and Margaret travelled to church meetings across western Canada they would always combine visits with family when they could. He proudly kept books for the local church, and eventually became quite involved with the Baptist Union of Western Canada. He felt that keeping the church organization running effectively would make a positive impact on our world. He especially tried to support people who were beginning good work with needy people. His association with the Gideons also served to advance and promote knowledge of God by giving more people access to the Bible. He is survived by his wife Margaret; his children, Earl (Kristin), Bruce (Calla), Amanda, Karl (Lissette), Karen and ten grandchildren, Jordan, Daniel, Elizabeth, Graham, Carly, Cory, Donalda, Tyson and Reid. A celebration of his life was held at First Baptist Church in Neepawa on Friday, June 17. His body is buried in the Riverside Cemetery. Margaret and the rest of the family sincerely thank all of you who support us in so many ways. A house is built of logs and stone, Of tiles and posts and piers; A home is build of loving deeds That stand a thousand years. - Victor Hugo, 1802-1885 White's Funeral Home, Neepawa in care of arrangements.
