DAVID GUDMUNDSON December 13, 1920 - April 8, 2005 On April 8, 2005, surrounded by his loving family, Dave passed away peacefully at the Arborg District Health Centre. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lillian; sons, Brian (May), Raymond (Anna and her daughter Agata) and Bruce; daughter Barbara Woodrow (Rob); grandchildren, Jennifer and Matthew Gudmundson, Stephen and Lindsey Woodrow; brother Marino (Edna); sister Lillian Kelly; sisters-in-law, Beatrice Gudmundson, Ruby (Fred) Hill, Bertha Alexander and Loa Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dave was predeceased by his parents, David and Sigurbjorg; brothers, Kristjan (Marin), Stefan (Loa), Valdimar, Johannes (Sigurborg), Lindal and Agust; sisters, Gudrun (Jack) and Kristin; brothers-in-law, Kristjan, Eliman, Johannes and Gunnlaugur Johnson; and sister-in-law, Jonina (Leifi) Oddleifson. Dave was born in Arborg and lived there all of his life. He was a lifelong member of the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church and served on Church Council. He was also a member of the Ardal School Board. Dave was a dedicated employee of Manitoba Hydro from 1961 until he retired in 1989. During retirement Dave spent his time gardening and maintaining the acreage . He enjoyed his trips to Iceland and the Yukon, and traveled throughout the Interlake to attend baseball and hockey games. A must every summer was his annual visit to the Lundar Fair. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of the Arborg Personal Care Home for the wonderful care Dave received while a resident there. Following interment, a service of remembrance will be held in the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church, Arborg, on Friday, June 24 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Terry Throndson officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation or to the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church. MacKenzie Funeral Services Ltd. entrusted with arrangements.
