ESTHER MARIE MCKAGUE August 21, 1925 - June 16, 2005 Esther passed away peacefully Thursday, June 16, 2005 with family at her bedside at Grace Hospital. Born Esther Marie Dugas in Inwood, she was predeceased in March by Milton, her husband of 60 years. She was also predeceased by her father, Alfred; mother, Aurore; brothers, Rocky, Marcel and Joseph. She is survived by children, Gary (Diane), Judy (Ernie) and Don (Irene); grandchildren, Alana (Glenn), Brian, Nicole (Chris), Dana, Jason; three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Kloe and Hannah. Esther is also survived by sister Flo and brother Florent. Esther had many lifelong friends and was loved dearly by her friends and family. She was known for her generosity and sense of fairness. She enjoyed simple pleasures in life and liked to play bingo or go out for a meal. Esther lived a full and independent life and kept in close contact with those she loved. Esther passed away in hospital, where she spent her last few days with family members remaining by her side throughout. The family is grateful for the wonderful nursing staff, doctors and chaplains at 3 North and in Emergency, where they cared for her as though she was family. A private family service will be held at MacKenzie Funeral Home in Stonewall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
