ALEXANDER ROSS Peacefully with his family at his side Alexander Ross of Manto Sipi Cree First Nation passed away at the Health Science Centre on Friday, June 17, 2005 at the age of 70 years. Alexander was born at God's Lake Narrows on January 1, 1935 and spent most of his life in God's River, MB. Alexander enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing and he was also a fishing guide. Alexander was a post master at God's River for 16 years retiring in 1986. He was also a carpenter and built many houses at God's River. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his beloved wife Hilda of 50 years; sons, Roger (Priscilla), Albert (Lillian), Nicholas (Bertha); adopted sons, Gilbert Andrews, Harvey Ross (Mary), William James, Kevin Ross; daughters, Jane Hill (Geordie), Geraldine Okemow (Oliver), Wanita McKay (Buddy), Emily Okemow (Larry), Marilyn McKay (Carvin), Mildred Osborne (Earl), Rita Osborne (Melvin); brother Louie Ross (Rosabella); sisters, Clara Wood (Sandy), Jemima Ross; grandchildren, Keneana, Clarence, Miriam (Paul), Patrick, Leslie (Yvette), Timothy, Rubina, Cameron, Nancy (Roy), Camilla, Mark, Alfred, Nicole, Miranda, Victoria (Chico), Patrick, Clinton, Jeffrey, Arden, Nadia, Sandra, Teralyn, Nikita, Joey, Jamie, Nathan, Cooper, Lainey, Langford, Cherilyn, Danielle, Gauge, Paige, Willard; great-grandchildren, Keira, Dawson, Quinton, Martel, Lenore, Demi, Precious, Mariah, Dori, Trenton, Jerrail, Preston, Darius, Destiny, Julian, Gabrielle, Chelsey, Serenity, Jaiden, Devin, Sheena, Kendall, Desiree, Dawn, Cody, Eliana, Evan, Austin and Justin. There are also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Alexander was predeceased by his parents, Roderick and Nancy Ross; brother Ellis; and sister-in-law Hilda; son Jeffrey; daughter Roxanna; grandchildren, Willard, Derrick, Cody; great-grandson Cavin; brothers-in-law, Elias, Alex, Joseph, Jonas; and sister-in-law Mary. Wake services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, Wednesday, June 22 and Thursday, June 23 at the residence of Alexander Ross in God's River. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 24 at 2:00 p.m. at God's River Community Hall with Pastor Marcel Okemow to officiate. Interment to follow at God's River Cemetery.
