RANDY W. DOREY After a second bout with cancer, Randolph Wayne Dorey passed away, surrounded by his family, at Grace Hospital on Sunday, June 19, 2005. Born in 1952, Randy grew up and attended school in St. James. After graduation he worked for his Uncle Lloyd at Ray's Delivery before moving to Dominion Armature Works. When DAW became Westland Steel Products Ltd. in 1981 Randy was one of the original shareholders. In his position as Treasurer and Executive Officer Randy took great pride in the company, its growth, and its people. Much of his time away from work during the past 12 years was spent working on his cottage with family and friends. These last 12 years were a gift that allowed him to see his boys grow up in to fine young men. Planner that he was, he had completed the cottage just prior to his illness. His intelligence and sense of humour made him one of a kind. Randy will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elizabeth and sons, Thomas and Paul. He is survived by his father Ray (Donna Berzuk); and mother Eleanor (Art Rogalski); his sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Joe Sidoli (Danielle and Samantha); his in-laws, Betty and Clarence Broughton, Jeanne and Vern Rehbein (Heather and Kevin), Allison and Neil MacHutchon, and Jamie and Franca Broughton (Shanley, Mitchell and Nicolas). Also mourning our loss are our dear friends, Cathy and Terry Bilyk, Pat and Bruno Malis, many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbours. The family would like to thank the staff at Grace Hospital and the Oncology Department for their care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jocelyn House Inc., 177 Egerton Rd., Winnipeg, R2M 2W7 or CancerCare Manitoba. A memorial service for Randy will be held Thursday, June 23 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave.

  • Dearest Liz, Tom & Paul From the very first time we met as neighbours at our little homes on Woodlawn close to 30 years ago, we knew we were friends for life. Your loss of your husband & father is our loss of a dear friend. We'll always remember the volleyball games in those early days to the visits with tea & cake in later years. Randy will remain in our hearts as you all will in the days to come. Take care. All our love Giselle & Rick & family - Posted by: Giselle & Rick (Friend) on: Jun 22, 2005
