OLIVE HAZEL (OLIVIA) LANE Peacefully, on June 19, 2005 at Vista Park Lodge, Olive Hazel (Olivia) Lane aged 85 years, widow of the late Reg Lane, passed away. Olivia was predeceased by her husband Reg in 1976. She is survived by stepdaughter Valerie Schweitzer (John); sister Euphemi Speer; nephew Clifford Speer (Gina); nieces, Charlotte Bartsch (Stan), Christina Slobodian (Brian), Muriel Lane in England and Peter and Shirley Kaye of Stittsville, ON. Many thanks to Rev. Dr. Ed Schmitt and Vista Park Lodge staff for their excellent care and compassion; and special thanks to Tina Friesen and Mary Sawatsky for many years of care. A celebration of Olivia's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23 at the Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, the Rev. Dr. Ed Schmitt officiating. The service is to be followed by cremation and will terminate in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations may be made in Olivia's honour to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., R2L 1X3 or to Vista Park Lodge, 144 Nova Vista Dr., R2N 1P8.
