JOSEPH RICHARD NORMANDEAU Joseph Normandeau, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully at the Saint-Boniface Hospital June 20, 2005, at the age of 64. His devoted wife Bernadette, was at his side for his peaceful journey to heaven. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 36 years, Bernadette (nee Decelles); his children, Duane (Billy), Dale (Adele), Neil (Jennifer), Chantal, Jacques (Lesia), Christian (Pascale); grandchildren, Jean-Pierre, Stephane, Amelle and Alexandre. He leaves behind many caring brothers and sisters who will dearly miss him, Anna, Paul, Philippe (Francine), Cecile (Conrad), Gisele (Eddy), Celine (Edouard), Leon (Pierrette), Jean (Claudette), Helene (Philip), Rosaire (Jeaninne), Jacinthe (Robert); sister-in-law Denise (Robert); and his mother-in-law Laurence Decelles. Joseph also leaves behind many brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his father Hector; his mother Solange; his brother Olivier and his father-in-law Edgar Decelles and also many members of his extended family. Joseph was born on March 3, 1941 in LaBroquerie, MB where he was raised on the family farm. He went on to work as a cook for CN up in Churchill, MB. He then married, settled and raised his family in Winnipeg where he drove trucks for Motorways for 25 years. Joe later rekindled his passion in culinary arts and operated a successful enterprise in food services until his illness. The family would like to thank Dr. Pascoe and the staff on Floor 2 at the Saint-Boniface Hospital for the care they provided Joe four years ago. We would also like to thank the staff on 6E at the same hospital for their care and compassion over the past few months. We send a special thank you to Dr. Kevin Coates, for the care given to Joseph. We would like to acknowledge the special care givers who looked after Joseph as if he were family: Mitzi, Ida, Michelle, Angie, David, Wayne and the many others. We would like to thank our family and friends who have helped us unconditionally, in the past four years, through prayer, support and kindness. Viewing will be held at La Cathedrale de Saint-Boniface at 1:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23. After the service a reception for family and friends will be held in the basement of the church. A private interment of cremated remains will take place at a future date.
