GENOVEFFA (GINA) CURATOLO Peacefully, on June 9, 2005 in Kelowna, BC, Gina passed away surrounded by her family and friends. Gina is predeceased by her loving husband Gerardo in 1990. She is survived by three devoted sons and their families, Rocco (Rocky) (Rosaria) of Winnipeg, Onofrio (Ono) (Cleofe) and Vince of Kelowna. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Gina, Marisa (Michael Johnson), Silvana (Mark Hanson), Bruno (Nancy), Mario, Carlo, Lesah (Steve) and Juhlie. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Evan, Nicholas, Julia Johnson, Ryan and Haley Hanson, Melissa and Amanda Curatolo. Gina is lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Gina came to Canada with her family in 1960 and made Winnipeg home, joining extended family. In 1979 the warm weather and fruit trees beckoned and Kelowna became home. Gina valued hard work and gatherings with family and friends. Gina gave not only from the abundance of her beautiful and bountiful garden but of herself. Gina had a heart of gold and welcomed all who visited her, as no one would leave hungry, thirsty or empty handed. While she will be missed dearly, Gina is now at peace and leaves behind very fond memories. The family sincerely thanks Dr. Sheperd and the staff at Cottonwoods Ethel Glen, with very special thanks to Antonietta Siccia and Antonietta Savino for their care, kindness and love towards Gina. A prayer service was recited on June 14 and a funeral mass was celebrated on June 15 in Kelowna. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gina's memory may be made to the Manitoba Brain Injury Association Inc, 204-825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB. R3A 1M5 or to a charity of one's choice.
