Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE HANCHER On June 20, 2005 at Golden West Centennial Lodge our dear sister, aunt and friend Anne Hancher passed away at the age of 86 years. Anne was born in Winnipeg on January 15, 1919. She resided in the family home her entire life until the fall of 2003. Anne was predeceased by her parents and her sisters, Alexandra, Nell, and Dorothey. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Elsie Barto, Olga Hembroff (Walter), and Julie Hancher; nephew Bruce Hembroff (Louise) and their children, Catherine (Willard), Andrew (Caroline), and Mary Ann (Jason) and grandchildren, Flynn and Anna; niece Marilyn Mutter (Gordon) and their children, Tom (Raena), Rob and Jennifer; niece Linda Sellar (Dave) and their children, Orlene, Mandy, and Shane and grandchild Madeline; and niece Ruth Lewinski (Ken). Anne retired from the Province of Manitoba Department of Labour, Employment Services in 1984. She was a charter member of Bethesda Church and was active in the congregation, singing in the choir for many years. Anne had a beautiful voice and a passion for music, and supported the arts in Winnipeg throughout her life. Indeed, she regularly attended the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the Manitoba Opera, and took pleasure in the performances even during this past year notwithstanding her illness. Anne also loved to garden and was talented at sewing and needle-work. She travelled throughout the world but always relished spending the summer at Clear Lake surrounded by her family. Here, along with the family dog Tessa, a favourite companion, she enjoyed nature trails and long walks by the water. We are deeply grateful to the staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge for their compassionate treatment and kindness towards Anne and the family throughout her stay there, and in particular during this past month. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lodge or a charity of choice in Anne's name. Cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial celebrating Anne's life on Friday, June 24 at 1:00 p.m. at the Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Rd. in Winnipeg, Major Roxanne Jennings officiating.
