ROBERT ALLAN KLAPP Suddenly, on Monday, June 20, 2005 Al Klapp, aged 81 passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. He was born in McCreary, MB November 15, 1923 the son of Frederick and Connie Klapp, one of ten children. He was predeceased by his wife Carol in 1991; his sisters, Jessie (Charlie) Fletcher, Margaret (Bill) Butterfield, Mena Kerr and Nora (Doug) Bell; brother Lorne Klapp; and brothers-in-law, Eric Pettitt and Lance King. Al will be lovingly remembered by his son David (Mary) and his daughter Kathi (Wade); and grandchildren, Richard and Jennifer Klapp. He is also survived by his sisters, Connie Pettitt and Millie King; brothers, George (Eleanor) and Jack (Ellie); brothers-in-law, Roy Kerr, Norm (Gail) Bailey and Ken (Lorraine) Bailey and numerous nieces and nephews. After discharge from the Armed Forces, Al went to work for Labatt's Brewery where he worked until his retirement. Al and Carol both enjoyed their retirement summers in Sandy Hook and winters in Florida. After Carol's death in 1991 he sold their home in Sandy Hook and returned to Winnipeg, where he lived until his death. Al loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed camping with his family. His vegetable and flower gardens were always the envy of the neighbourhood. In his later years he loved walking every day, so it was fitting that his final walk was at Kildonan Park with the flowers in full bloom and his pocket full of peanuts for the squirrels. The family respectfully declines flowers, if one wishes a donation may be made in his name to a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 24, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca
