She was raised in Carroll, MB and shared many fond memories of her childhood. After Grade XII she completed Business College and worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia in Winnipeg. Before long, June married Dr. Les Knight and joined him in Souris, where they began their new life and family together. She was a devoted mother raising four daughters, always interested and involved in their activities. After the children were grown, she returned to the work force. She was manager of the Souris Medical Center from 1975 - 1999, when she retired. She loved working and enjoyed the comradery of the staff and patients. Throughout her life, June enjoyed the people more than anything, which became evident in all her friends. Everyone loved her fun laugh, beautiful smile and sweet tooth. Above all, she enjoyed having family gatherings with her home cooked meals. She was involved in a variety of activities, curling, golf, art classes, yoga and gardening. She especially liked and had great fun playing bridge with the bridge club and later on at the Drop In Center or wherever there were four people sitting around a table such as her daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were very special to her and she loved having fun with them, always interested in their activities, and enjoyed being involved in their endeavours. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend who devoted her life to her family and will be sorely missed by all. A private family service has been held.
