WALTER H. ZAHN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband and father, suddenly at the Victoria Hospital on June 22, 2205. Left to cherish his memory are Adina, his wife of 47 years; his son Michael of Montreal; and his daughter Dorothy Li and husband Raymond of Vancouver. He will be remembered with affection by his sisters, Annelies Besler and husband Paul of Winnipeg, Christina Knoernschild and husband David of Memphis, TN; nephews, Steven Knoernschild and family of Maumelle, AR, and Benjamin Knoernschild of Memphis, TN; cousin Charlie Kunze and family of Winnipeg; and many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Anna Zahn. Born in Markkleeberg, Germany, on August 31, 1930, Walter immigrated to Canada in 1951, where he met and married Adina. They settled in Fort Garry, where they raised their two children and enjoyed many happy years of marriage. Walter worked as an electrician and electrical estimator until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time at the cottage, travelling, classical music and working on his computer. He will be lovingly remembered for his quick wit, ability to meet new challenges, his generosity and his strong Christian faith which sustained him throughout his illnesses. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the nursing and medical staff at the Victoria General Hospital who cared for Dad during his last illness and for the many prayers and support from relatives and friends. Viewing will be held at Neil Bardal, 984 Portage Ave. at Aubrey, on Sunday, June 26 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Monday, June 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Beautiful Saviour Lutheran Church, 1541 St. Mary's Rd., with Pastor J. Fritsche officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beautiful Saviour Lutheran Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Interment in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
