THOMAS JAMES (JIM) BIDINOSTI Just two days past Father's Day, we are so sad to announce the sudden death of Jim, lifelong love, friend and companion of Iris; loving and very supportive Dad to Stewart, his daughter-in-law Allison, who loved to get Jim dancing to those oldtime dances, his wrestling grandsons, Ryan James and Nicholas Blair; and loving and gentle Dad to Tanis, his son-in-law Brent, whose plane rides Jim truly enjoyed and his cuddly granddaughter Kirsten Delaney. His kids and grandkids are his immortality. He leaves a large gap in the life of his sister-in-law Phyllis Kuhn who together did many farm chores. Jim's brother-in-law John Kuhn says he has lost his big brother. Jim is the guy that taught him to waterski, helped him buy and maintain those first cars and gave him much brother-in-law advice, wanted or not. His sister-in-law Joyce had a special bond with Jim and his nephew Jeffery has stayed fresh in Jim's memory throughout his illness. Curtis and Linda Kuhn were also special people to Jim along with their children, Jaimie and Alex. His brother Victor and sister-in-law Helen spent many harvests with Jim as he hauled their grain. He loved that life and became more of a weather watcher than Vic. Jim's brother-in-law Allen Kuhn and his wife Dorothy along with sister Reta and husband Des Ross will also miss his companionship. Also left to mourn Jim's passing will be many friends. Super supportive friends, Al and Mary Cartlidge, Rick and Shirley Lawrence, Jim Brolund and Al and Margo Kirton will miss Jim's companionship. Jim was predeceased by his brother Kenneth in 1955, his father Angelo in 1985 and his mother Nellie in 2002. Born in Teulon, MB he lived on the family farm until he was 16. He and Iris were married on August 23, 1958. Jim's working career of 45 years, pulling wrenches in Woods garage in Teulon, Imperial Motors in Selkirk as well as Gelhorn and Parkside Ford in Winnipeg. In 1972, he switched careers and began teaching power mechanics at the Selkirk Comprehensive High School. He retired in 1996 with many students in the area following in his footsteps. Jim and Iris had interests in many activities. With their kids they enjoyed boating, skiing, both downhill and water, fishing, travelling, hiking in the mountains and white water canoeing and rafting. In retirement, Jim and Iris had their to see list which included Europe, Mexico and all of the United States including Alaska. They got to every place. No regrets. Jim was a fixer. Anything that took fuel and had wheels, plumbing, building, painting, wiring and fine furniture finishing...show it to Jim and it was done. He lived a full life and always gave his best. He was one of the good guys. We love you. A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Thursday, June 30 at 2:00 p.m. in the Selkirk Friendship Centre, 425 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Jim Bidinosti was sure one of the good guys. He taught me Power Mechanics in high school from 1992 - 1995, and I still remember his laughs and smiles. Today his teachings are in use in my job and I thank Jim for that. Jim will be missed. I send my condolences to his family. - Posted by: Robert Aime (Friend) on: Jun 29, 2005
