Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryZLATKO IVAN TOMASIC June 30, 1931 - June 22, 2005 Zlatko Tomasic passed away suddenly on June 22, 2005 while at his home in Cochenour, ON. Born in Skaljevica, Croatia in 1931, Zlatko was in his 74th year. He immigrated to Canada in 1958, arriving in Winnipeg where he was joined by his family in 1959. Attracted by the opportunity to work in the busy mining industry, he moved to the Red Lake area in 1962. He worked for Cochenour Willans Gold Mines Limited and the Griffith Mine until its closure in 1986. He joined the Township of Golden in maintenance and became a common sight operating the Zamboni during the winter and maintaining the area parks in the summer. His favourite times were had at his lake cottage where he could enjoy the outdoors in solitude and with his family, work at his favourite hobbies and enjoy his special relationship with animals. Zlatko will be missed by Dragica (Caroline), his wife of 50 years, his daughter Rosie (Jacuzzi), his son John, son-in-law Paul, granddaughter Robin and brother Anthony. Zlatko was predeceased by his parents, Magda and Ivan Tomasic and brothers, Yuri and Vinko. A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church in Balmertown, ON on Monday, June 27 at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Woodlands Cemetery. Prayers will be held on Sunday, June 26 at the Stevens Funeral Homes Red Lake Chapel at 7:00 p.m. If friends so desire donations in Zlatko's memory may be made to the Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital Foundation through the Stevens Funeral Homes Red Lake Chapel , P.O.
