MERNE CULLEN On June 23, 2005 Merne, much loved wife of Bernie, mother of Richard, Judy (David), Ted (Barb), grandmother of Scott (Karen), Janie (Dirk) and Ryan, and great-grandmother of Ashley, Marshall and Dane, passed away at St. Norbert Personal Care Home. Merne was born in 1916 and was the last surviving member of her large family - being predeceased by her parents and six brothers and sisters. She married Bernie in 1939 and they were about to celebrate their 66th wedding anniversary in July. Mom was fortunate to have been able to be very independent and active until this January. At that point her life became a series of challenges. We are most grateful to the staff at both Respiratory Care - Riverview Health Centre and St. Norbert Personal Care Home. They were the best and afforded her great respect, dignity and compassion. Thus the family requests that in lieu of flowers, if friends desire donations be made to the Activity Departments at either St. Norbert Personal Care Home, 50 St. Pierre, St., Norbert, MB, R3V 1J6 or Respiratory Care - 2 East, Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 2P4. Merne cared deeply for her family and left them a wonderful legacy - for she taught them the importance and value of justice and sharing. Thanks, mom. At Merne's request, there will be no funeral. Her family will gather to celebrate and remember her.
