SUSANNE JULIETTE DA SILVA (RUST) Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, it is with deep regret that we announce the death of Susanne Juliette Da Silva on Thursday June 23, 2005 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 43 years. Remaining to forever cherish Susanne's memory are her husband Bernie; children, Danielle, Ryan and Jonathan and her parents, Herbert and Irene Rust. Susanne's funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 28 at 10:30 a.m. in the Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington St. with Pastor Dr. Frank Bahr officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Ave. The Mountains of Manitoba The day is bright, the sky is clear, The land around me is smooth and green. It's one of the prettiest places I've ever been. The place you ask? It's Manitoba, Manitoba my dear. This is the province of grain, wheat and sun. But come, join me now, and together we'll Have a bit of fun. When in the sky, the clouds are low, You get the picture, I think you know. When the summer sun rides low in the sky, And the sky is awash with hues so bright, There appears to be a sense of beauty and might. One can often see the distant clouds, Perched low upon the horizon, In colours dark and blue we see, What strangely appears to our eyes That mountains near, yet strong and tall Loom in the great and majestic skies. Yea, though they be clouds in reality, They are what I prefer to call affectionately, The mountains of Manitoba. By Susanne Da Silva WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Although I have not seen Suzanne in almost 25 years, I have many fond memories of our time together working on the LCCVI yearbook. She was a hard working and fun loving person who got the job done but was also able to see the humour in almost any situation. I have just lost my loving husband to a brain tumour so I share in your grief. Let us take comfort in knowing that our loved ones are not in pain anymore. - Posted by: Jennifer (Deans) Santana (Friend) on: Jul 04, 2005

  • To the Rust family, It saddens me to hear about Susanne's death. I received the news via the reunion group. I have a picture of Susanne and I getting on the bus on our grade 8 graduation morning in our long gowns. I always enjoyed my time at your house especially our 4-H meetings. You always had such delicious treats for us at the end of our meetings. Although we didn't continue to correspond after University - I have very fond memories of her and I throughout our childhood. Please know that you are in my prayers today. - Posted by: Sandra Corrado (Bobert) (Friend) on: Jul 03, 2005

  • Just the other day, Scott Bullock (another LCCVI grad) and I were speaking of Susanne and wondering how her battle with cancer was going. This is so very sad. Susanne was my best friend in high school. She was a very special person. Although we only stayed in touch from time to time over the last 25 years, I still held her in my heart as a friend. I was so looking forward to seeing her at the 25th high school reunion in October. My condolences to all. Cathy - Posted by: Cathy Fournie Lethbridge (Friend) on: Jul 02, 2005
