THOMAS STUART (STU) PANTING An angel got his wings as Thomas Stuart (Stu) Panting, stepped through the gates of Heaven on June 20, 2005 after 11 months of battling cancer. Stu was born September 11, 1926 in Winnipeg. He moved to Lethbridge, AB in 1978 while working with the Government of Canada Employment and Immigration, retiring with 24+ years of service. He was the Co-Founder of Blankets For Canada Society Inc. Preceded in death by wife Louise (1984), his parents Thomas and Emma and brother William (Bill), all of Winnipeg. Survived by wife Nancy; daughter Susan Vanderaegen (Thane) of Lethbridge; son Douglas of Winnipeg; grandchildren Kayla and Garett Vanderaegen; sisters Barbara Iwanchuk and Margaret Green, both of Winnipeg area, 16 nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews and seven great-great-nieces and nephews, and many friends. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Blankets For Canada, www.blankets4canada.ca or the Community of Christ Church. A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, June 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the Community of Christ Church, 154 Pentland. Those wishing to send notes can send them to Panting_Stu@hotmail.com.
