HAROLD PERCY LARENCE 1923 - 2005 It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of their beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Harold Percy Larence, on June 22, 2005, at the Percy E. Moore Hospital in Hodgson, MB. Harold was born on January 14, 1923 in Fisher Branch, MB. He was predeceased by his father Harry; his brothers, James, Eugene and Robert; his brothers-in-law, Denis Giasson and Gerald Olsen; his sister-in-law Ericka Larence. Harold will lovingly be remembered by his wife Lillian of 57 years; his daughters, Norma (Keith Hallett) and Stella Thomas; his grandchildren, Sean (Andrea), Tracy, Amanda (Shane Giebel) and Shane; great-grandchildren, Liam and Morgan Hallett, Cade Giebel and Desarae and Ethan Thomas. He is survived by his mother Sadie; his sisters, Irene (Dave Fraser), Noreen Dutiaume, Genevive Olsen, Sadie Larence and Darlene Giasson; sisters-in-law, Lucie Larence, Patsy Larence, Gert Knight; and numerous nieces and nephews. Harold enlisted in the army in 1942 with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles (Little Black Devils) and voluntarily served his country in the Second World War. His theatres of active service were in the countries of France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was the recipient of the following medals, 1939 to 1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, War Medal 1939 to 1945 and Holland for foreign service. Harold was discharged and returned home in 1945. He joined the Hodgson Legion Branch No. 158 in 1957 and was a life member. The family would like to thank all of the staff at the Fisher Personal Care Home, and the staff Percy E. Moore Hospital for the excellent care and compassion that they gave during this difficult time. Also a special thank you to Dr. Greg Andreas and the Fisher Funeral Home. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, June 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Fisher Branch, MB. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 30 at 1:00 p.m. also at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Harold's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements in care of Fisher Funeral Home, Fisher Branch, MB.
