WILLIAM KUSHNERYK Passed away on June 27, 2005. Bill was born in Big Valley, AB on January 5, 1920. He is survived by his loving wife, Cecilia; sons, Bill (Janet) and Ron (Hedy); grandchildren, Susan, Colin, Tim, Tanya, Kristine; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Sara; sisters, Rose, Katherine and Olga Edmonton, Alberta; brother Mike and niece Gladys (Neil) Vancouver, BC; sister-in-law Mary Nielsen, St. John, NB; sister-in-law Edith; niece Valerie (Ken) and Darren. Bill served overseas with the Canadian Army during The Second World War in North Africa, Italy, Holland, France and Germany. A longtime employee of CP Rail and VIA Rail Canada, Bill enjoyed travel, the outdoors, hunting, fishing and time spent with family and grandchildren. Bill possessed an exemplary kindness and a deeply rooted sense of right and social justice, which his actions demonstrated every day. Special thanks to Dr. Ian Maxwell and Astrid Procyk, Victoria General Hospital and to medical staff of Intensive Care Unit, St. Boniface General Hospital and for the loving care of nursing staff. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 30 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 255 Stafford St. with Msgr. Stan Jaworski as celebrant. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
