Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMIKE KOROTASH Peacefully on June 28, 2005, Mike Korotash passed away at the age of 84 at the Grace General Hospital. Mike was predeceased by his loving wife Irene; son Terry; parents, Stephen and Teenie; brothers, John, Bill and Alec; and sisters, Helen, Francis, Mary and Ann. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his children, Diana (Merv), Larry (Joan), Brian (Marilyn); and his grandchildren, Daniel (Jolene), Crystal, Chelsea (Doug), Alana (Jeremy), Taunia (Elliot), Lauda (Derek), Darryl (Jennifer), Shannon; and his special great-grandchild Aiden. His memory will also be cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and close relatives. Mike was born in the Polson District on March 4, 1921. As a young man, Mike served his country overseas. Returning home to help on the family farm, Mike married Irene Hogue in 1950. Together they raised their family on their farm. Mike enjoyed his farming life until suffering a severe stroke in 1990. One of Mike's favourite pastimes was music. He enjoyed playing the drums and excelled at playing the mouth organ. Until his final days, Mike loved to entertain on his harmonica to family and friends. A special thank you to all Mike's home care workers throughout the years, staff at Goodwin Lodge, nurses and doctors at Teulon Hospital. Also to nurses and doctors in the Intensive Care Unit and 5th Floor at the Grace General Hospital. A prayer service will be held on Friday, July 1 at 7:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Saturday, July 2 at 10:30 a.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Interment will follow at Polson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Mike's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Goodwin Lodge, Teulon. MacKenzie Funeral Home Teulon in care of arrangements.
