Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHERBERT GEORGE BOUNDY Peacefully after a lengthy illness, on Tuesday, June 28, 2005, George Boundy passed away at the age of 87 at the Arborg and District Health Centre. He will be sadly missed by Maria, his wife of 61 years; daughter Alice Bjornson of Arborg and her family, Rob and Taylore, Cassedi and Collby of Stoney Plain, AB, Tim, Rene and Lisa, Mark and Sheri, all of Calgary; daughter Kristine and Karl Bauernhuber and their family, Loreen and Jim Ramsay, Ashleigh, Amber and Aaron of Winnipeg, Tracey and Randy Baker, Randine and Morgan of Petersfield; son Brian and Sharon and their family, Lorne and Anna of Arborg and Oskar of Iceland; and son Herb of Arborg. He is also survived by two sisters, Olive Firman of Arborg and Doris Gibson of Riverton. George was predeceased by his son Lorne in 1955; parents, Alice and John; brothers, John and Frank; sisters, Edith Einarson and Margaret Johnson; and most recently by his son-in-law Bjorn in 2004. George was born November 20, 1917, at his parents homestead at Ledwyn, MB and attended Tarno School. As a young man, he worked on the family farm and in logging camps. George married Maria (Kristinnson) November 6, 1943. He farmed at Bjarmi and in 1950 moved his family to Geysir where he continued farming for the next 37 years. In the early 1960s he realized his ambition of operating a dairy farm with his wife and sons. He retired from the farm in 1987, but continued to help whenever he could for several years. George enjoyed family times and the company of many friends. He was very proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved their visits and hearing their news. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 2 at 2:00 p.m. at the Geysir Community Hall with Pastor Claire Speary officiating. Pallbearers are his grandchildren, Tim, Rene, Loreen, Tracey, Mark and Lorne. Flowers are gratefully declined, but donations may be made in his memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, or a charity of your choice. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
