She also leaves to mourn numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was born in Winnipeg on September 19, 1932. She spent her early life after attending school as a Nurses' Aid at the Children's Hospital and was a devoted family caregiver, spending her years caring for her husband, children and grandchildren, and looking after numerous sick relatives. Joyce was an excellent homemaker and would always share her goodies with people surrounding her. She was always willing to help others, thoughtful and had a heart of gold. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and relatives. In keeping with Joyce's wishes, cremation has taken place, with a private family interment to be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest with her mother at Elmwood Cemetery. For those so desiring, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association. The family would like to thank the wonderful homecare staff at the W.R.H.A. for their outstanding kindness and compassion for making Joyce's final days so rich. Sincere appreciation also to the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Cancer Care and Riverview Personal Care Home.
