LAWRENCE (LARRY) WAYNE SINCLAIR Peacefully, on June 28, 2005 surrounded by family, Larry passed away at the Misericordia Health Centre after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Larry is survived by his brother Jim (Darlene); his sisters, Beverley Sinclair, Marilyn Taylor, Val Mowstowy (Pee Wee); also by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Rose and stepfather Stan Shrupka; his brothers, Myles Sinclair, Lloyd Shrupka, Derek Shrupka and his adopted sister Heather McClay. Larry was born in Selkirk, MB on December 21, 1945 and was a member of the Peguis Band. Larry joined the army at 16 and served as a peacekeeper on the Gaza Strip, and Germany. He enjoyed his time in Israel and spoke of it often. He was honourably discharged after 10 years of service. After being discharged he lived in Kingston where he attended St. Lawrence University and worked as a guard at Kingston Pen. Upon his return to Winnipeg he began his nursing career at the Health Sciences Centre, first on the psychiatric ward and later in the emergency ward. Larry will be sadly missed by all. The family would like to thank the staff at the Health Sciences Centre and Misericordia Health Centre for their care. A memorial service will take place in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk on Saturday, July 2 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to CancerCare Manitoba, Room 1160, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
