Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA (OLLIE) SMITH (TITTLEMIER) On June 30, 2005 at the Park Manor Personal Care Home, Ollie Smith passed away peacefully with her son by her side. Ollie was born in Russia to Frank and Bertha Abraham on October 15, 1918. At the age of eight, she immigrated to Canada with her family, settling on a farm near Whitemouth. On August 10, 1938 she married Roy Tittlemier, who predeceased her in 1950. Later, on May 5, 1956, she married Arthur Smith, who passed away on July 4, 1990. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her children, Delphine (Ken) Jones, Wendy Newman of British Columbia, Richard Tittlemier, Brenda (Dave) Ruff; her grandchildren, Lisa (Ken) Rempel, Corrine and Leah Newman, Shaundra Ruff; her great-grandchildren, Sarah and Chelsea Rempel; and siblings, Len, Alice, Richard, Cecile, Violet of British Columbia, Lorne of Winnipeg; numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends. Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Kildare Avenue West, Transcona. Burial to follow at the Transcona Cemetery. Pastor Dan Abraham officiating. Pallbearers will be Lisa and Ken Rempel, Ken Jones, Dave Ruff, Glen and Dennis Abraham. Prayers and viewing will be offered on Monday evening, July 4 between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Ollie was a founding member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. She enjoyed gardening and reading, had a green thumb that gave her pleasure in the beautiful flowers and bountiful garden she tended. Ollie was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking and baking. In 1972, she helped build and later sold a cottage at Hillside Beach then, in 1989 purchased a second cottage at Hillside. For the past five months, Ollie was a resident at Park Manor where she made new friends and quickly became one of the favourites . Her family is deeply grateful to Park Manor and staff for the wonderful care she received. It will long be remembered. Should friends so desire, memorial donations made to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd would be greatly appreciated. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
