WILLIAM GEORGE SANDISON William George Sandison, born October 18, 1928, died July 1, 2005. Loving husband of wife Isabel, father to daughters, Elaine and Pat, sons-in-law Michael and Gord, and grandfather to Colin, Derek and David. Predeceased by father George in 1959 and mother Sabina in 1979. Bill was a City of Winnipeg Firefighter for 38 years, retiring in 1988 with the rank of District Chief. He had many wonderful friends on the job, and truly enjoyed his work life. Bill was involved in union activity and the creation of the Firefighters Historical Society. He spent many hours researching information and exhibits for their Museum. Bill and Isabel travelled after retirement, visiting Scotland, China and numerous locales throughout Canada and the United States. Though his health took a downturn in the last few years, Bill and Isabel were able to enjoy the company of family and friends at their 50th wedding anniversary celebration in March 2002. Many thanks to the staff of the Rehab Geri unit 4U12 at Seven Oaks Hospital, who assisted in Bill's care with much kindness over the last four months. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be interred in the Fire-men's Plot at Brookside Cemetery at a later date. Please join our family for Bill's funeral service, at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Firefighters Burn Fund Inc., 303-83 Garry St., Winnipeg, R3C 4J9. Dad: Enjoy walks with Maggie and Don's company. Keep your reading material close and your maps highlighted. Til later... CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
