NORMAN DOUGLAS JOHNSTON Suddenly on June 30, 2005 at the age of 72 years Norman passed away at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre. Dad was raised in the Framnes district. At a young age he began his farming career where operated a dairy, grain and beef operation in which he remained active. One of his greatest passions was his yearly hunting trips to Sharpwood. He enjoyed the peace and tranquility of nature. The camaraderie with his buddies was a big part of this activity. Dad liked many recreational activities including fishing, quading, snowmobiling, camping trips and reading. He enjoyed all levels of hockey especially watching his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Framnes School Board and Rink Board. Family activities were an important part of his life. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved to tease his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years Beatrice, daughters, Frances (Johnny), Norma (Ken); sons, Rick (Sheila), Rob (Amanda); grandchildren, Shaun and Lori, Jennifer and Brian, Dennis and Chantel, Todd and Stacey, Shaina, Tyler, Kirk, Erin and Zachary; great-grandchildren, Shaylynne, Bodan, Tessa and Savannah; brother Raymond; sisters, Lillian Boel and Alyce Sigurdson; sisters-in-law, Sigurbjorg Lupky, Emily and Steve Gislason, Sigurros Johnston; brothers-in-law, John Snifeld, Julius and Jesse Snifeld; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Beatrice Johnston; brother Willie; brother and sister-in-law Martin and Lucille Johnston; sister and brother-in-law Ialo and Holger Josephson; sister-in-law Agnes Johnston; brothers-in-law, Bob Boel and Mike Sigurdon. In accordance with Dad's wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a private interment at the Arborg Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements entrusted to Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Chapel.
