Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET (PEGGY) LOUISE BELL It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Margaret Peggy Louise Bell on Friday, July 1, 2005 at the Grace Hospital. Peggy was the eldest daughter of Beatrice and Ralph Moore of River Heights where she grew up and spent her formative years and met many of her lifelong friends. She will be sadly missed by her four daughters, Janet Bell, Joyce (Dale) Shurvell, Joanne Chapman and Jane (Bert) Friesen; grandchildren, Richard and Joanna Wiebach, Alison and Amy Shurvell, Jeff Chapman, and Kyle, Chris and Katie Friesen. Also surviving are her two sisters, Betty Hays of Winnipeg and Janet Lundman of Victoria. She was predeceased by her husband Doug (2003) and brother Fred (2003). Peggy was first employed with Air Canada and moved from Winnipeg to Victoria. It was on a trip home to Winnipeg she met her future husband Doug and they married in 1948 and celebrated 55 years together. Doug and Peggy began raising their family in Silver Heights and Peggy became a full time homemaker. It wasn't until her youngest entered school, that she returned to the work force and began a retail career with Holt Renfrew Co. It was at Holts, Peggy enjoyed many years of gainful employment that fulfilled her passion for clothing. Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother, and good friend. She enjoyed many connections with friends and family whether over a bridge game with the old girls , visiting at her Victoria Beach cottage or having a cup of coffee at 162 Kane. Peggy had a zest for life, a great sense of humour and an abundance of compassion for others. She was a golfer, curler, avid reader, berry picker and advice giver. Peggy's family would like to thank the many people involved in her care the past few years and a special thanks to the Charleswood Care Centre staff especially Deena and Kathleen. A celebration in honour of Peggy's life will be held on Tuesday, July 5 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. If friends so desire, donations in her honour may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6.
