MICHAEL MYSKIW It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Myskiw, aged 82, July 1, 2005 at the Vita District Health Centre. Mike was predeceased by his father Harry in 1957, mother Nellie in 1985, brother John in 2004 and two nieces in infancy. He leaves to mourn his sisters and brothers: Sophie (Leon) Zaretzky (Swan River, MB), Anne (John) Wintoniw (Steinbach), sister-in-law Elsie (late John) Miskiw, Mary (Peter) Sopiwnyk (Caliento), Olga (late Morris) Marynowski (Zhoda), William (Anne) Myskiw (Zhoda), Jean (late Eugene) Bilawski (Zhoda), Doreen (Dennis) Tysoski (Winnipeg) and many nieces and nephews. Mike started farming at a young age then took over the family farm when his dad passed away, which remained his residence. His hard work was balanced by his love for music and friends. He was a musician in a band and was always more than happy to assist others when an accordion player was needed. Upon his retirement, Mike focused his interests on having fun and enjoying the company of family and good friends. He could often be found at the Friendship Centre or entertaining at the Care Home and the Shady Oaks Lodge. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, July 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Steinbach Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Steinbach Funeral Home with interment at Zhoda Community Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Zhoda Hall after interment.
