Born: Oct 10, 1986
Date of Passing: Jul 01, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTONYA KIRCHEN It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Tonya Kirchen on July 1, 2005 at the age of 18 years. Tonya was born in Winnipeg on October 10, 1986 and lived her entire life here. She is survived by her father Robert Whitehill, her paternal grandparents and numerous paternal relatives. She leaves to cherish her memory her immediate family, mother Diane Kirchen; sister Megan; brothers, Lance and Lucas; stepfather Kelly; Kelly's mother Sylvia and sister Shasta; the love of Tonya's life, Robert Young and his mother Adrienne. She is loved and will be missed by a large circle of family and friends. Tonya met and fell in love with Robert two years ago and looked forward to her 18th birthday so they could begin their life together. The Aboriginal comedy artist Don Burnstick gave them the opportunity to be together as house sitters in his home. It was a very happy time for Tonya and Robert and we thank Don for his kindness. Tonya had many friends and was especially close to Amanda, Katelyn, Jen and Ally. Friendship was important to her and her friendships were deep and lasting. With the loss of one so young, it is easy to remember the whole of her life. We remember feeling her move in the womb. We remember her birth, her shining eyes, her first smile, her first grasp of a finger, her first tooth, her first steps, the first time she ran, her play, her sadness, the joy of her friendships, the happiness at birthdays and Christmas. We remember the pride we all had at her good grades, her high school graduation, her first job. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 8 at 1:00 p.m. also at the chapel. So much to remember and so little. Our fledgling dove left the nest only months ago and had so short a flight. We pray her flight continue on wings of angels to eternal joy and happiness. I am want to express my deepest sympathies to you and your family. Although I did not know Tonya, I was deeply touched by her story. My sister was a friend of Lance's in Junior High and High School and knew Tonya. I lost a friend when we were 20 years old in 1998 to Tuberculosis and still think fondly of her. Please be strong and hold on to each other, and know that Tonya would not want you to be sad. You are in my prayers. - Posted by: Darla Gibson (Family) on: Jul 07, 2005
