DOREEN VANHUMBECK (HOPFNER) Surrounded by her children, after a courageous battle with cancer, Doreen passed away at the age of 72 years at the Ste. Rose General Hospital on Saturday, July 2, 2005. Doreen was predeceased by her husband Aime; her parents, William and Clare Hopfner; her sister Winnie Pelletier; and her brother Cliff Hopfner. Doreen leaves to cherish her memory, daughter Lisa and husband Brad Friesen of Winkler; sons, Perry and wife Rachel, Randy and wife Karina and Trent and wife Christine of Laurier. She also leaves 17 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. In loving memory of Doreen, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ste. Rose General Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Ste. Rose du Lac, MB, R0L 1S0 or to the Dauphin Regional Health Centre Chemotherapy Unit, 625 - 3rd St. S.W. Dauphin, MB, R7N 0A1. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Ste. Rose General Hospital and the Dauphin Chemotherapy Unit for their caring and compassion. Many thanks to all those who visited Mom and for the support and encouragement shown during this difficult time. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 6 at 2:00 p.m. with prayers prior to the service at 1:30 p.m. at Notre Dame des Victoires Roman Catholic Church in Laurier with Fr.
